LRC is excited to offer the club an opportunity to receive specialized training to become a more competitive rower. This program is designed for rowers who have put in a minimum of 50 hours of time on the water, who are able to effectively row with others, and who are willing to commit to set training workouts.
Coach Michael Kinsey has graciously agreed to take on an intensive training program for both scull and sweep rowers that aims to create competitive lineups between similarly situated rowers.
Participants will receive on-the-water coaching twice a week. Scull practices and sweep practices will be on alternating days with coach set lineups and workouts.
Commitment to land workouts once a week is expected, and erg times will be used to help Coach Kinsey formulate training plans and lineups that help each rower progress to their potential.
There are three potential opportunities to race this season: Secret City Regatta (Oak Ridge), Music City Regatta (Nashville), Head of the Hooch (Chattanooga). It is LRC's goal that every athlete be able to race.
This program is intended to work to determine the most competitive lineups in various boat configurations. Program participation does not cover regatta expenses or guarantee a specific line-up and/or boat in a specific regatta.
In the occasion that a coach does not believe you are ready to race, this program will help you work on the skills you need to be race ready in future seasons!
